Job summary

Molex is seeking a Quality Engineer to provide technical quality support across the product lifecycle. You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customers to ensure reliable, compliant products.

Responsibilities include leading QA activities, maintaining quality documentation, supporting NPI and design transfers, and driving continuous improvement with a focus on defect reduction and supplier quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline and 3+ years in electronics/manufacturing quality.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB assembly, soldering, testing, inspection, and process controls.
  • Experience with APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, RCA, CAPA, SPC, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving and drive sustained improvements.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.

  • Lead quality assurance activities for electronic manufacturing, ensuring compliance with requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve Control Plans, PFMEAs, inspection strategies, process controls, and quality docs.
  • Support NPI, engineering changes, qualification activities, and design transfer to ensure quality.
  • Lead root cause investigations using 8D/5 Why/Fishbone, FMEA, and SPC.
  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce defects and improve First Pass Yield.
  • Serve as quality representative for customer concerns and corrective actions; work with suppliers to resolve issues.

Your Job

As a Quality Engineer at Molex, you will provide technical quality support throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring manufacturing processes consistently deliver reliable, compliant products. You will support quality strategy, customer requirements, new product introduction, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customers.

You will join our Electronics Manufacturing Quality team, a dynamic and innovative group focused on delivering mission-critical products that meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Our team collaborates across engineering, production, supply chain, and program management functions to ensure quality is built into every stage of the product lifecycle.

What You Will Do
Quality Systems & Product Assurance
  • Lead quality assurance activities supporting electronic manufacturing operations while ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve Control Plans, PFMEAs, inspection strategies, process controls, and quality documentation.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), engineering changes, qualification activities, and design transfer processes to ensure quality requirements are effectively implemented.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead root cause investigations utilizing methodologies including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving First Pass Yield, minimizing customer escapes, and increasing operational efficiency.
Customer & Supplier Quality
  • Serve as a quality representative for customer concerns, corrective actions, and quality performance reviews related to assigned products and manufacturing processes.
  • Partner with suppliers and Supply Chain teams to resolve supplier quality issues, drive corrective actions, and reduce supply chain risk.
  • Support customer audits, source inspections, and regulatory assessments.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provide quality leadership and mentorship to manufacturing personnel, inspectors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure quality objectives are integrated into business decisions.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Engineering within electronics or electromechanical manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of electronic manufacturing processes, including PCB assembly, soldering, testing, component inspection, and process controls.
  • Experience with APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Actions, SPC, and Risk Management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving activities and drive sustainable improvements.
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience supporting product lines, manufacturing programs, or complex product portfolios.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, power electronics, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with ERP, MES, and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Proven ability to influence teams and drive quality improvements.
