Job summary

The role involves audits, corrective actions, and developing testing methods across the production life cycle; a Mechanical/Industrial/Materials focus plus 5+ years of related experience is expected.

Qualifications

• ISO 9001 experience with audit support and corrective actions.
• CQE certification or active pursuit is a strong plus.

• Proficient in MS Office; ERP familiarity preferred.

Arizola & Associates is recruiting for a Quality Engineer for a manufacturing company in East Houston.

Essential Job Functions:

• Oversee the ISO quality management system. Support and help guide organization through ISO Certification.
• Create and lead supplier quality management system. Collect, analyze, and monitors supplier quality data and develop/maintain supplier quality score card.
• Participate in audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventative actions.
• Lead and participate in company internal audits for ISO 9001.
• Supports Quality Action reporting metrics; provides data for tracking metrics. Assists in development of root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions are implemented to address non-conformances.
• Develop and suggest new and more efficient way to initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of the current products throughout the production life cycle.
• Perform routine audits and/or onsite assessments for key present and potential suppliers.
• Extensive knowledge and experience of working to ISO:9001 - 2008/2015 including writing policies, procedures and work instructions. Knowledge of ISO 9001-2015 changes over the previous 2009 version is highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Materials) or a related technical discipline with 5 or more years of related experience.
• Quality background in manufacturing sector is required.
• American Society for Quality (ASQC) and Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certification is a plus.
• Lean Six Sigma certification desired. Minitab or similar data statistical analysis capability preferred.
• Must be proficient with MS Office suite of tools.
• ERP software experience is highly desirable.
