Job summary

Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill, is seeking a Quality Engineer to create, implement, maintain, and monitor quality plans for rotating and structural aerospace components. You will monitor process capabilities, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to sustain or improve metrics.

The role involves interfacing with suppliers and customers, developing and training procedures, and leading the team to ensure conformance to customer specifications.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years quality engineering experience preferably in aerospace machining.
• Good understanding of GD&T and inspection methods for high-precision aerospace components.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to multitask.
• Work well with personnel at all levels; focus on current issue; self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Develop/maintain and monitor quality plans for manufacturing processes.
• Create process documentation (CA/AV, ICP, PFMEA).
• Review/disposition of non-conformance and perform root-cause analysis.
• Monitor process quality metrics and initiate improvement plans.
• Implement corrective actions and monitor sustainment.
• Interface with suppliers to resolve process issues and with customers to address quality concerns.
• Monitor and improve MRB/Slow moving WIP plans.
• Present process metrics using PowerPoint.
• Develop knowledge of customer specifications and procedures for quality and operations.

Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill is a world-class manufacturer of precision machined aerospace components. We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer. The successful incumbent will create, implement, maintain and monitor quality plans related to manufacturing processes for rotating and structural aerospace components. Monitor and analyze manufacturing process capabilities and provide root cause analysis, corrective action and overall guidance to maintain/improve metrics.

The salary range for this position is $95,000 – $110,000

• Develop/implement/improve manufacturing process quality plans
• Create process documentation (CA&V, ICP, PFMEA)
• Review/disposition of non-conformance and facilitate root cause review/assignment
• Monitor Process quality metrics and initiate improvement plans
• Implement corrective actions and monitor sustainment
• Monitor process capabilities and raise issues for awareness
• Interface with suppliers to develop/troubleshoot specials processes issues
• Interface directly with customers to alleviate quality issues
• Monitor/develop plans to alleviate MRB/Slow moving WIP
• Present process metrics utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint
• Develop/Maintain expert knowledge of customer specifications and requirements
• Develop and train customer/part specific procedures for quality, technical and operational staff
• Submit/introduce FPA/DAR plans/changes
• Provide technical leadership to team members
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Manager or Director

Position Requirements

• 3-5 years quality engineering experience preferably in aerospace machining
