Safran Group in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure airworthiness and quality for components and repairs at the repair station (MRO). You will develop and manage QA methodologies, focusing on FAA coordination and PMA documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires a strong FAA interface, PMA experience, and a hands-on approach to continuous improvement within an FAA/EASA regulated environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, quality or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years in Quality or Engineering within FAA/EASA regulated environment (MRO preferred).
Experience interfacing with FAA and supporting regulatory audits.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary quality point of contact with FAA and other regulators for Part 145 activities and audits.
Lead preparation and maintenance of FAA regulatory documentation, including PMA-related records.
Coordinate with FAA inspectors on quality and airworthiness matters, audit prep, findings closure, and ongoing compliance.
Ensure PMA activities comply with CFRs, FAA guidance, and internal QMS requirements.
Collaborate with functions to enforce quality standards across processes and supply chain.
Assess compliance of materials and hardware against program requirements and engineering docs.
Design and analyze quality inspection and testing processes and conduct QA audits.
Ensure corrective actions meet quality standards and verify effectiveness.
Conduct root cause/corrective action on nonconformities; participate in continuous improvement.
Manage flow-down of customer requirements and customer satisfaction from quality perspective.
Approve manufacturing/repair documents and support all repair station quality activities.
Interface with internal/external orgs and customers on quality issues and corrective actions.
Collect/analyze data and generate technical reports and presentations.
Ensure data integrity and conformance to FAA/EASA/CAAC, ITAR, and AS9100/AS9110 requirements.

Job Summary

The Quality Engineer is a member of the Quality Team with primary responsibilities for ensuring the quality and airworthiness of components and repairs carried out at the repair station (MRO). The role involves the development, management, and communication of quality assurance methodologies to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, with a key focus on FAA coordination and PMA-related regulatory documentation and compliance activities.

Essential Job Functions

Serve as a primary quality point of contact with the FAA and other regulatory authorities for Part 145 activities, audits, surveillance, conformity inspections, and regulatory inquiries
Lead preparation, review, and maintenance of FAA regulatory documentation, with particular emphasis on PMA-related documentation, data substantiation, conformity records, and approval support as applicable to MRO operations
Coordinate directly with FAA inspectors on quality and airworthiness matters, including audit preparation, corrective action responses, finding closure, and ongoing regulatory compliance
Ensure PMA-related activities comply with applicable CFRs, FAA guidance, and internal quality management system requirements.
Collaborate with various functions to ensure quality standards are established and adhered to on all processes, programs, maintenance/repair and throughout the supply chain.
Use knowledge of electronic components, mechanical components and material used for production/repair of hardware to assess compliance with program requirements, contract, and engineering documentation
Design and analyze quality inspection and testing processes, conduct quality assurance audits
Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable quality and reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements and perform follow-up verification for effectiveness of corrective measures.
Conduct comprehensive root cause/corrective action on nonconformities; participate in Continuous Improvement activities
Perform customer interface and manage flow down of customer requirements
Manage customer satisfaction from the quality perspective
Approve manufacturing/repair documents & support all aspects of repair station quality
Liaise with the internal/external organizations/customers on quality issues and corrective actions
Collect and analyze data, and generate technical reports and presentations
Responsible for data integrity and process conformance to regulatory bodies like the FAA (Part 145), EASA (Part 145), and CAAC, as well as customer requirements and internal quality management systems (e.g., AS9100, AS9110).
Interface with the FAA, third party regulators and other regulatory agencies during audits and address quality-related topics or issues.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position and occasionally move about the office and production floor. Constantly operates and use a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copier/printer and laboratory machinery. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information. The ability to observe, identify and assess details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds across office for various needs.

Work Environment

The work environment is split between office & production floor, with most work being performed in the office. Noise level in the office is typically quiet while the noise level in the production floor could occasionally require hearing protection.

Experience in relevant Business sector

Experience within the Aerospace Industry is a plus.

Candidate skills & requirements

Required Competencies, Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, statistics, quality or a related field
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality or Engineering within an FAA/EASA regulated environment, with a preference for MRO operations experience
Demonstrated experience serving as a primary interface with the FAA and supporting regulatory audits, surveillance, and findings closure
Experience preparing, reviewing, or supporting PMA documentation and regulatory data strongly preferred
Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
