Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Everett, WA team on a 12-month contract. You will support quality improvement initiatives, collaborate with manufacturing and engineering, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities include developing quality systems, performing root-cause analyses, and leading corrective actions. On-site role with 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM schedule, pay rate of $59.77/hr, and ITAR-related eligibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1+ year of engineering support experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in STEM with at least 2 years of relevant experience, OR an advanced degree, OR 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality evaluation systems, control plans, and quality protocols.
• Analyze testing and inspection methods to ensure product reliability and process compliance.
• Investigate nonconformities and design issues, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Support quality improvement initiatives through data analysis and statistical methods.
• Utilize PPAP core elements (PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans) to assess and mitigate risks.
• Review and maintain process control documentation for customer, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing to develop testing plans and QA strategies.
• Lead escape management and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Support process change management and quality-related engineering changes.
• Implement product engineering changes to resolve customer quality concerns.
• Drive proactive quality initiatives to improve efficiency and product performance.
• Support Program Quality Engineering and Product Quality Engineering activities.

As a Quality Engineer, you'll play a critical role in supporting quality improvement initiatives, ensuring product reliability, and driving continuous process enhancements. Working closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams, you'll help maintain compliance, reduce risk, and improve overall product performance throughout the production lifecycle.

Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering high-quality aerospace products that meet rigorous industry and customer standards.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Minimum of 1+ year of engineering support experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 2 years of relevant experience, OR
• An advanced degree in a related field, OR
• In lieu of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Stand out with any of the following:

• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Certification.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• APQP and PPAP experience or awareness.
• Material Review Board (MRB) experience.
• Experience supporting quality initiatives in aerospace or complex manufacturing environments.
