Job summary

C5ISR (Gichner Systems Group, Inc.) seeks a Quality Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System to meet internal, industry, and customer standards. The role emphasizes audits, corrective actions, and continual improvement in a defense/government contracting environment.

Responsibilities include publishing quality procedures, reviewing contractual requirements, and supporting quotations while ensuring compliance and cost controls.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience required.
  • ASQ certified Quality Engineer or ASQ certified Quality Auditor or equivalent certification or experience.
  • Prior experience in a quality engineering role preferred.
  • SPC experience and/or training; geometric tolerancing; ISO 9000 training; (AS9100) Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Publishes and revises quality procedures and policies (as required).
  • Develops quality and inspection plans based on contractual requirements.
  • Interfaces with customers on quality issues and manages QMS and special-process audits.
  • Reviews contractual requirements to ensure internal requirements, procedures, and specifications compliance.
  • Maintains build records of shelter configuration as required by contract.
  • Provides direction and support to inspectors, including interpretation of specifications.
  • Reviews nonconformances and determines/concurs on disposition.
  • Analyzes and implements corrective action requests and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Reviews drawings for Configuration Management as needed.
  • Supports the development of quotations for new business (as required).
  • Monitor QA department spending against assigned programs.
  • Troubleshoot and investigation corrective actions (RCCA).
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
