Job summary

Full Time Quality Engineer, Knowlton Technologies, LLC, Watertown, NY, US

Salary Range: $71,500.00 To $88,000.00 Annually

Job Summary

Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in providing all Knowlton Technologies employees with the process improvement tools, training and support needed to achieve a Lean Value Stream. Support Lean Six Sigma Projects to continuously improve the Lean Value Stream. Assist in maintaining and improving the Knowlton Technologies ISO / IATF 16949 Quality Management System. Serve as backup to the Quality Assurance Manager and Quality team members in their absence.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Indirect supervision of the Quality Department team members along with the Dry Lab & Sat Lab Technicians.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable regulatory laws. Responsibilities include training and development of subordinate employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing customer complaints and resolving problems.

Quality

Supports, maintains and continually improves Knowlton Technologies, LLC Quality Management System in accordance with requirements of the IATF 16949 International Standard. The Employee has the role and responsibility to follow the work instructions and Current Best Practices that support the KT Value Stream Maps.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering discipline (Paper Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering) from an accredited four-year college or university; five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Enthusiasm for Process Improvement!
• Knowledge of papermaking processes and paper testing procedures or equivalent experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training or willingness to obtain training.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, QI Macros, and Minitab or ability to learn quickly.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
