Job summary

Advantech Industries Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer to monitor and improve the quality of our manufacturing processes at our Rochester, NY facility. You will design quality standards, develop inspection plans, and drive corrective actions.

You will work with operations to implement controls, utilize QMS and HQA Inspection Manager software, review drawings and GD&T, and ensure compliance with safety standards while supporting customers with quality questions.

Qualifications

  • Hands on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies.
  • In-depth understanding of technical documentation.
  • In-depth understanding of machining and sheet metal fabrication including print reading and GD&T.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Solid computer and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Superior communication and teamwork skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, QA, or similar role.
  • Additional QA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer quality specification/PO flow downs, codes and technical design documents to provide an accurate inspection plan.
  • Participate in contract review meetings to initiate and advise on inspection plans.
  • Utilize HQA Inspection Manager software to bubble drawings, create FAI reports, and identify critical dimensions to be verified and recorded on an in-process inspection report.
  • Develop quality plans for manufacturing based on customer RFQ.
  • Collaborate with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements.
  • Ensure workflows, processes, and products comply with quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot product or production issues.
  • Develop corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance.
  • Update our Quality Management System (QMS) with incidents, fixes and improvements.
  • Manage calibration system in Inspection Manager Software.
  • Assign gauging to check critical dimensions.
  • Work with customers regarding quality questions and issues.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Quality Engineer’s responsibilities include designing quality standards, equipment, process, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
