iWorld Professionals is seeking a Quality Engineer for an on-site role in Rochester, NY. The position welcomes both early-career engineers and seasoned professionals who can tackle complex quality challenges and drive continuous improvement.

You will work with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and supplier quality teams to reduce defects, review drawings, analyze data, and support RCCA, audits, and new product introductions. On-site position with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Possess a degree in a technical field such as mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Willingness for entry-level or experienced candidate; multiple experience levels supported.
  • Experience in quality engineering or related areas encouraged.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with quality methodologies (8D, RCCA, SPC, PPAP, APQP, 8D, 5 Why) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 or aerospace/defense quality requirements desirable but not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • LEAN or Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Genuine interest in quality and continuous improvement.
  • On-site work availability in Rochester NY.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and supplier quality teams to identify and reduce product and process defects.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, manufacturing processes, and quality requirements for compliance.
  • Investigate quality issues and support root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities.
  • Use structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 Why, DMAIC, and similar quality tools.
  • Evaluate nonconforming materials and help determine appropriate disposition and corrective actions.
  • Analyze quality data and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve quality, reliability, and manufacturing performance.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve quality concerns and clarify technical requirements.
  • Review manufacturing processes and documentation before release and following engineering or process changes.
  • Participate in new product development and introduction activities.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory quality audits.
  • Maintain accurate quality documentation and system records.

You’ll work alongside technical and operations teams to improve processes, investigate quality issues, reduce defects, and ensure products meet rigorous industry standards.

Quality Engineer Position Responsibilities:

Quality Engineer Requirements:

We are interested in candidates at multiple experience levels. You do not need to have every preferred qualification to be considered.

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Entry-level candidates with relevant education, internships, co-op experience, or hands-on manufacturing exposure are encouraged to apply.
  • Experienced candidates with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, or related experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience or exposure to quality methodologies such as FAI, RCCA, SPC, PPAP, APQP, 8D, or 5 Why is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 or aerospace/defense quality requirements is highly desirable but not required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • LEAN or Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and customer-facing teams.
  • A genuine interest in quality, continuous improvement, and solving technical problems.
  • Ability to work on site in Rochester NY.

Direct hire with base salary commensurate with experience in the $70,000 - $100,000 range plus excellent benefits and growth opportunity.
