Job description

  • Our ideal candidate will have the following:

    • Experience with the Sepsis Bundle (SEP 1) Metric
    • Midasquality reporting system experience
    • Epic experience preferred
    • Strong experience presenting to all levels of leadership, including executive leadership
    • Strong communication both verbal and written
  • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
    • Performs high level analyses in support of institution-wide clinical quality improvement activities. Facilitates the development and maintenance of data collection, leveraging existing data to identify gaps in care and recommends areas of focus for quality improvement activities. Accurately collects and records specific data elements from patient medical records based on established criteria and guidelines. Performs data abstraction of clinical findings from medical records and data entry in clinical data systems.

  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    • The system Quality Outcomes and Reporting team provides analysis of quality data, handles quality reporting and oversees CMS quality incentive programs for the system. The team works to prepare standard and ad hoc reports, supports regulatory reporting, interprets data, and presents key trends and important findings enabling site and department leadership to turn them into actionable insights and improve our patient’s outcomes.

  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's Degree required.
    • Two (2) years related experience in a healthcare setting required.
    • Experience with Midas quality reporting system required.
    • Experience and/or training in word processing, database management and the use of all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) required.
    • Experience with statistics and in project management/coordination preferred.
  • KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
    • Knowledge of clinical processes, quality improvement concepts (lean, pdca, etc), and common quality benchmarks and how the organization compares to other comparable institutions.
    • Ability to generate/extract data from source systems and to understand and work with complex data sets.
    • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
    • Proficient skills in Power Point and Excel.
    • Ability to work independently and on multiple tasks simultaneously.
