Qualifications

  • 1 year + experience in corrugated manufacturing or 3+ years in manufacturing/quality/leadership
  • Associate degree or recognized quality certification is required
  • Experience with basic computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and data tooling

Responsibilities

Georgia-Pacificis now hiring aQuality Coordinatorto join our team inWaxahachie, TX. As a member of the plant’s leadership team, the Quality Coordinator supports the plant’s quality and product safety programs to ensure corrugated products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and BRCGS Packaging Materials standards. The position reports to the Quality Manager and partners with the Production team monitoring quality performance, investigating issues, completing audits, and driving continuous improvement across the facility.

Shift:
  • Ability to work different shifts as needed and weekends based on production, audit schedules, or urgent quality needs.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
What You Will Do
  • Collaborate with the team to help Georgia-Pacific become the preferred supplier for our customers
  • Foster a culture based on our Principle Based Management (PBM) Philosophy, and lead the manufacturing teams in Product Quality and Safety compliance
  • Participate in customer engagement, perform customer site visits and create a Customer Communication Process where it adds value
  • Track, trend, and clearlycommunicate multiple data points to all levels of the organization.
  • Continuous ownership of calibration systems for all plant testing equipment to ensure compliance with calibration and validation needs.
  • Support implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the BRCGS Packaging Materials standard, including hazard assessments, site audits, and traceability, by proactively seeking opportunities to enhance safety and compliance.
  • Lead and support root-cause analysis for defects, complaints, and process deviations, collaborating with production teams to implement corrective actions, verify effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement through teamwork and problem-solving.
  • Utilize data analysis to monitor quality performance and to identify and recommend improvements by tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and take actions to drive positive changes
  • Conduct internal audits and assist with external audits, ensuring compliance with safety, housekeeping, and quality policies, while actively seeking and sharing knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist in driving change that improves the overall customer experience
  • Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with noise, machinery, and varying temperatures, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 35 pounds.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • One (1) year of corrugated manufacturing experience; OR
  • Three (3) years of manufacturing, military, quality, or leadership experience; OR
  • An associate degree in a technical field or a recognized quality certification.
  • Experience with basic computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Kiwi systems).
  • Ability to work different shifts as needed and weekends based on production, audit schedules, or urgent quality needs.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Bachelor of Science degree in science related or technical discipline
  • Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF), British Retail Consortium of Global Standards (BRCGS) and/or ISO
  • Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar experience or certification
  • Experience in Corrugated packaging and/or food and beverage manufacturing
