Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Terrell, TX is seeking a Quality Coordinator to oversee quality claims for vendor materials and coordinate internal audits across the division. This role focuses on safety, quality, cost, and productivity while promoting continuous improvement and compliance with welding standards.

You will work with multiple lines to prepare for audits, track QSRs, maintain calibrations and weld procedures, and support training to correct deficiencies. A strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of fabrication reports and part drawings.
  • Knowledge of fit-up and weld standards per IAS AC472.
  • Experience in a fabrication facility.
  • Ability to achieve CWI within 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quality claims process for materials from vendors not meeting quality requirements.
  • Prepare for internal and external audits; coordinate with third parties for on-time audits and reporting.
  • Track QSRs by line and assign bonuses accordingly.
  • Ensure calibrations are up to date and properly recorded.
  • Maintain weld procedures and certifications.
  • Support internal quality checks and conduct spot audits; provide training to correct deficiencies.
  • Manage and improve the division Quality Control Program to sustain high quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement with focus on safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US.

Basic Job Functions

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.


Minimum Qualifications


  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of fabrication reports, assembly drawings, and part drawings.

  • Knowledge of fit-up and weld standards per IAS AC472.

  • Experience working in a fabrication facility.

  • Ability to achieve CWI within 2 years.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Prior experience with fabrication, design, or inspection of pre-engineered metal building system components.

  • Prior quality control experience in manufacturing (IAS, Keystone, Miami-Dade, Intertek).

  • Current CWI certification.


Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
