Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc in Parsippany, NJ is seeking a Quality Coordinator to support the Quality Team by ensuring inspections, certifications, and quality records are accurate and maintained.

The role collaborates with Scheduling, Materials, Sales, and Production to uphold high quality standards and acts as backup to the Quality Engineer, including handling customer quality concerns.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years in office administration, data entry, or quality roles.
• Knowledge of ISO/QS quality standards and requirements preferred.
• Understanding of quality processes and metal manufacturing or related industries.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Oracle Systems experience preferred.
• Fluent in English; strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage data entry for material inspection records in quality systems.
• Process and maintain inspections, audits, complaints, and rejected material reports.
• Manage mill certificates and test reports for traceability and compliance.
• Assist in drafting reports, SOPs, and quality-related correspondence.
• Back up the Quality Engineer and support key quality processes.
• Oversee customer claims process and ensure timely resolution and documentation.
• Coordinate with customers to address quality issues and corrective actions.
• Support containment actions and address rejected material.
• Assist with mill defect reports and vendor issue resolution.
• Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement projects.
• Assist with PPAP requests and material investigations.

Wieland is hiring a Quality Coordinator. The Quality Coordinator supports the Quality Team by ensuring that material inspections, certifications, and quality records are accurate, complete, and properly maintained. This position plays a key role in supporting customer requirements, regulatory standards, and internal quality processes. The role involves managing quality data, assisting with audits and continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams (Scheduling, Materials, Sales, and Production) to uphold the highest standards of quality and professionalism. The Quality Coordinator also acts as a backup to the Quality Engineer and supports direct customer communication regarding quality concerns and claims.This role is located in Parsippany, NJand will be fully on-site.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Manage data entry for material inspection records within the company’s quality systems.
• Process and maintain quality documentation including inspections, audits, complaints, and rejected material reports.
• Manage mill certificates and test reports to ensure traceability and compliance with customer requirements.
• Assist in drafting reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality-related correspondence.
• Act as backup for the Quality Engineer, providing coverage during absences and supporting key quality processes.
• Oversee and manage the customer claims process, ensuring timely resolution and clear documentation of each case.
• Coordinate with customers to address quality issues and concerns, ensuring customer expectations are met and corrective actions are communicated.
• Support interim containment actions and assist in addressing rejected material.
• Assist with mill defect reports (DMRs) and coordinate with internal teams to resolve vendor issues.
• Provide support during internal audits and participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Assist the Quality Manager with material investigations and dispositions.
• Assist in preparation and processing of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requests.
• Review and approve daily customer certifications in collaboration with the Quality Manager.
• Communicate and coordinate with interdepartmental teams responsible for shipping inventory from within Wieland facilities, ensuring quality expectations are met.
• Work closely with Production Operators to resolve quality-related discrepancies.
• Coordinate with Scheduling, Materials, Sales, and other departments to ensure quality expectations are met.
• Support the Quality Team with additional tasks as assigned to maintain compliance with internal and external quality standards.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in office administration, data entry, or quality-related roles.
• Knowledge of ISO/QS quality standards and requirements preferred.
• Understanding of quality processes, production environments, metal manufacturing, or related industries.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Proficiency with Oracle Systems preferred.
• Strong computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to perform unit conversions and basic calculations.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Professional communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to coordinate directly with customers and internal stakeholders on quality-related matters.
