Job summary

Wieland is hiring a Quality Control Technician in Delaware, OH for an on-site role. The technician inspects materials, reviews prints, and supports quality initiatives to meet safety, cost, and delivery goals. You will perform calibrations and maintain records, with training and shift schedules noted.

Starting pay is $24/hour with a $0.75/hour shift differential for the 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 4:00pm-2:30am). First-shift training is available for 30–60 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years in industrial manufacturing with quality focus.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings and writing reports.
• Ability to use standard inspection tools (calipers, tape measures, weld gauges).
• CI/QAI certification and Liquid Penetrant within 90 days preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to QC procedures for inspection requirements.
• Inspect incoming, in-process, and outgoing materials to specs.
• Perform calibrations, tests, and evaluations per instructions.
• Record results and initiate NCRs as needed.
• Assist QA manager on projects and tasks.

Wieland is hiring a Quality Control Technician. The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for: performing inspection upon receipt of materials and recommending disposition, reviewing finished products to conformance of Mechanical Prints, performing and auditing in-process checks to ensure compliance with procedures and ASME Code regulations, and working in conjunction with other departments to meet goals of safety, quality, cost, and delivery. This role is located in Delaware, OH and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $24/hr, with compensation adjusted based on experience and qualifications

Shift Differential: $0.75/hr

Schedule: 2nd Shift - Monday-Thursday, 4:00pm-2:30am

Training on 1st shift - Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm for approx. 30-60 days

Responsibilities

Quality Control Technician Responsibilities:

• Understands and adheres to company Quality Control procedures, as related to overall inspection requirements


• Cooperates with production personnel and supervision to ensure maximum production with optimum quality as established by management


• Inspects incoming, in-process, and outgoing material, parts, and assemblies to specifications and Mechanical Prints following standard shop practice and/or special instructions


• Performs specific calibrations, specific tests, and specific evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and records the results


• Initiates internal NCRs and collaborates with Production to correct issues


• Disposes rejected material appropriately


• Assists the Quality Manager and others in the completion of various projects and implementations


• Completes other duties as assigned

Quality Control Technician Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required


• At least three (3) years' experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with Quality as a primary function required


• Experience reading mechanical drawings/prints, inspecting components, and writing technical reports required


• Must be able to use standard and metric tape measures, calibers, weld gauges, and other quality/inspection tools proficiently


• Must be or become CI/QAI (Certified Individual/Quality Authorized Inspector) and Liquid Penetrant certified within 90 days in this position


• Vocational or associate's degree pertaining to position preferred


• Able to perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, reaching, and may frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs


• Able to perform work in a medium industrial setting with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, industrial odors, gases, chemicals, oil, grease, smoke, dust, noise, vibration, climbing ladders/stairs, and working in close quarters


• Able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)


• Detail oriented


• Strong analytical skills


• Microsoft Excel/Word proficiency
