Job summary

ABB's Distribution Solutions Division is seeking an experienced Quality Control professional to conduct testing and inspections during manufacturing to ensure compliance with quality standards.

You will perform pre-testing of new products, support Factory Acceptance Testing, troubleshoot issues, determine root causes, and document results in accordance with ABB processes and safety guidelines at the Pinetops, NC facility.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Experience with engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of planned maintenance and backlog management.
  • Specialist technical & engineering skills.

Responsibilities

Each day, you will execute the assigned work according to agreed workflows and in accordance with ABB standard processes and safety guidelines and report any non-compliance. You will also showcase your expertise by performing tests or checks by following procedures and instructions defined in manuals and test scripts.The work model for the role is: onsite at the Pinetops, NC facility.You will be mainly accountable for:Performing physical pre-testing activities for newly developed products to ensure product quality and validating manufacturing processes.Assisting the team in performing all required checks as part of the Factory Acceptance Testing process.Inspecting and troubleshooting any identified issues, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.Maintaining accurate testing records, data, and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality management systems.Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)8+ years of working in a manufacturing environmentData Analysis & ReportingCustomer SatisfactionEngineering & Manufacturing ProcessesPlanned Maintenance & BacklogSpecialist Technical & Engineering SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredLegal authorization to work in the US is requiredKnowledge and use of tools – tape measure, calipers, grinders, or other hand tools, as needed.Ability to safely use a ladder while performing the job, as neededAbility to lift, push and pull up to 40lbsWorking conditionsManufacturing plant environment requires a combination of hands-on and technical tasks. Work may involve occasional lifting of materials, climbing stairs/ladders, and walking. Employees may be required to bend, twist, or stand for extended periods.Frequent use of computers is necessary for data entry, monitoring, and communication. Employees will also handle a variety of tools and equipment, from hand tools to machinery, requiring technical skills and adherence to safety protocols.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed shoes, is required to ensure a safe working environment.
