Job description

Quality Control Technician (QC Technician) Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Technician (QC Technician) to join our manufacturing team. The Quality Control Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality for manufactured components, including sheet metal, machined, laser cut, and welded parts. This full-time position focuses on performing precision mechanical inspections using both manual and automated methods such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and a variety of hand-held tools. The QC Technician will be responsible for interpreting complex engineering drawings, applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards, and maintaining detailed inspection records in the quality management system. Working as a Quality Control Technician provides an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in advanced inspection techniques and contribute to the consistent delivery of high-quality products in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

As a Quality Control Technician, you will work closely with the production and engineering teams to conduct first article, incoming, in-process, and final inspections. Utilizing your hands-on skills in manual inspection and CMM operation, you will inspect a wide variety of parts and assemblies, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards. This role requires proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, a strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and the ability to accurately document results and non-conformances. The successful candidate will be adept in both manual measurement (hard check) and automated inspection methods, with an emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity in reporting.

Our company values the contributions of the Quality Control Technician, recognizing that consistent, high-quality output is essential to our reputation and customer satisfaction. We are committed to providing a supportive work environment where employees can expand their skillset, leverage advanced technology, and grow their careers in manufacturing quality assurance. The QC Technician position offers the chance to work with modern inspection tools including Zeiss, Brown & Sharpe, and Mitutoyo CMMs, and to play a key role in upholding our commitment to quality excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for a range of inspection activities, from verifying incoming materials to performing final checks on finished assemblies. Your expertise will help drive process improvements and ensure that all products leaving our facility meet rigorous quality standards. Excellent communication skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to work independently are essential attributes for the QC Technician.
