Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician in Salt Lake City to conduct routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished products to maintain quality. You will operate testing devices, record results, and ensure conformance to specifications.

Responsibilities include line tests on can filling, use of gauges and micrometers, data entry, and adherence to 5S workspace standards. Strong attention to detail and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2–3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Possesses basic to intermediate skills and knowledge. Has a general understanding of production and quality processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to review and interpret basic data and trends.
• Must be able to match colors.
• Demonstrated ability to provide clear and concise communication (verbal and written) in a respectful manner.
• The ability to work effectively in a Microsoft Windows environment (Word, Excel, Outlook, and internal software programs), including data entry and basic spreadsheet use.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to review data for accuracy.

• Routinely use measuring tools (such as: caliper gauges, micrometers)
• Advise production when inspection or test results do not meet specifications
• Generates forms as required to correct or prevent nonconformance; investigates as needed
• Records test data and applies to statistical quality control procedures
• Enters data into database systems and maintains accurate records for analysis
• Recommends revisions and updates for standard operating procedures and work instructions as needed
• Performs periodic product or process audits per standard procedures
• Supports efforts to minimize defects by identifying and reporting quality issues
• Build positive relationships across designated team by effectively collaborating, communicating, and upholding ethical integrity
• Works individually and as a team to support quality and efficiency improvements
• Maintain a safe and clean workspace according to 5S standards
