Quality Control Technician - Night Shift

Job Overview

The Quality Control Technician's primary responsibility is to ensure compliance with all aspects of the SQF, Quality, and Food Safety Programs by all employees, vendors, visitors, etc.

Work Environment

Graveyard Schedule: 6pm - 6:25am, 12-hour shifts (including weekends). Training will be conducted on day shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Verify operator paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
• Document checks clearly, cross-reference, and ensure traceability. Communicate QA test results to production and notify supervisors and managers of product or plant issues.
• Perform follow-up testing on finished products until issues are resolved.
• Conduct tests on incoming ingredients, including sieve, NIR, moisture, and mycotoxin testing.
• Maintain and report hold/reject products, ensuring proper disposition.
• Collect routine ingredient and finished product samples as specified in QA Manual.
• Train personnel on quality and food safety practices.
• Respond promptly to calls for assistance, providing ETA and clear communication.
• Address quality and food safety concerns promptly and follow up as needed.
• Follow FIFO and enforce it across departments.
• Assist production, maintenance, and sanitation personnel as needed during shifts.
• Maintain a clean work environment and stock supplies for the next shift.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and all SQF, Quality, and Food Safety Programs by all personnel, visitors, and vendors.
• Maintain accurate and legible paperwork.

Qualifications and Experience

• Must pass pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Quality Control role preferred.
• An AA Degree in a related field may substitute for experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Salary: $23.42 - $25.42 per hour.
