Quality Control Technician (Monday-Thursday, 5:00AM-5:00PM)

Description:

The Quality Control Technician must be available to work Fridays as needed. Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the technician will be based at the Medina facility. They manage the overall quality functions for their shift, collaborating with management, the Quality Supervisor, Production Supervision, and lab personnel to ensure the highest quality products are produced. They are accountable for adhering to corporate policies and quality programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and report product conformance to specifications through inspection of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Perform tests such as pH, viscosity, density, specific gravity conversions, moisture testing, and solids testing.
• Review production processes for compliance with quality standards.
• Report and monitor significant deviations from quality standards.
• Act as liaison for all quality-related matters of produced goods.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Support operations (batching, lines, warehousing) with transactions in the Deacom ERP system, including issuing materials, inputting production, and inventory transactions.
• Implement company policies and initiatives.

Requirements:

• Availability to work Fridays as needed.
• Knowledge of computer systems.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in Quality; experience in the chemical industry is a plus but not required.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across technical and business functions, with supervisory capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, troubleshoot manufacturing and system issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing plant/lab environment.
• Occasional reaching, squatting, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Wearing protective gear such as hard hats, hearing, and eye protection as needed.
