Job summary

Mestek Machinery in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Quality Tech to perform routine quality inspections of new machinery during production and to ensure adherence to specifications. Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with electronic test equipment and QA applications.
• Ability to understand electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
• Knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic fundamentals.
• Experience with inspection methods and documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers).
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong computer skills (QA apps, word processing, spreadsheets).

Responsibilities

• QC inspection of all new equipment.
• Review checklists for compliance with specifications per customer agreements.
• Act as liaison between production and engineering for updates.
• Participate in overflow quality checks as needed.
• Design and implement process control and inspection methods.
• Record and maintain documentation of inspections.
• Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and standards.
• Identify and troubleshoot quality issues; propose solutions.
• Train production staff in QC procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate QC findings to management.
• Support service with new equipment installations.
