Mestek Machinery in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Quality/Service Technician to conduct routine quality inspections on new machinery during assembly, including in-process and final checks. Qualifications

• AAS degree or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a quality control manufacturing environment.
• Familiar with electronic test equipment.
• Understanding of basic electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic fundamentals.
• Experience with inspection methods, documentation, and quality records.
• Strong communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform SQC inspection of all new equipment.
• Review checklists for compliance with equipment specification standards per customer purchase agreements.
• Serve as liaison between production and engineering for technical updates.
• Participate in overflow quality checks as needed for machining operations.
• Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection.
• Record and maintain documentation of all machinery inspections.
• Work with the safety committee to ensure EHS compliance.
• Identify and troubleshoot quality issues and recommend solutions.
• Collaborate and train production staff in quality control procedures and standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and safety control processes.
• Communicate quality and safety findings and recommendations to management.
• Perform other duties as required.

• SQC inspection of all new equipment
• .Conduct reviews of checklists for compliance with equipment specification standards per customer purchase agreements
