  • Accurately document all test results, calibrations, and maintenance activities in accordance with internal SOPs and regulatory standards.
  • Execute microbiological testing including media preparation, plating, incubation, and colony counting for beer, water, and environmental samples to monitor hygiene and prevent contamination.
  • Perform cell counts and viability assessments on harvested and pitched yeast to support fermentation consistency and yeast health tracking.
  • Assist in managing non-conforming product investigations and hold procedures, ensuring no release without Quality Manager approval.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager to track laboratory inventory and restock supplies as needed.
  • Help develop and maintain accurate quality records and clearly present data to relevant departments.
  • Participate in the HACCP Food Safety Program to ensure product integrity and compliance.
  • Coordinate the setup and daily operation of the brewery’s Sensory Panel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or Food Science preferred. An associate’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant lab experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably food, beverage, or alcohol production) will also be considered.
  • Comfortable working rotating shifts, with availability for occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

You’ll Thrive In This Role If You

  • Can prioritize tasks and multitask effectively in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
  • Are self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
  • Communicate effectively and work well in team environments.
  • Are passionate about quality beer and take pride in maintaining high standards throughout the brewing process.
