Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Lead - Level 5 with a background in quality inspection processes to join our team at Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America (PECNA). As a Quality Lead - Level 5, you will report to the Quality Supervisor and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper day-to-day execution of quality objectives, enhance product quality, and contribute to the success of the world's largest lithium-ion battery initiative. The Quality Lead - Level 5 will work together with the Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance in resolving bugs, defects, and other potential issues and ensuring that products meet customer specifications.

Essential Duties:

• Perform high-level data interpretation and analytics tied to Key Performance Indicators
• Lead effective and timely containment actions and treatment of nonconforming materials, utilizing Python scripts, Foundry, or other data visualization tools. Establish basic process alarms utilizing Python scripts and Foundry.
• Lead quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing product quality, process improvements, or reducing defects.
• Provide direction and support as required for QA Inspectors and Operators in quality improvement projects.
• Lead hands-on training of inspectors to improve overall proficiency.
• Operate independently sometimes without written SOPs, analyze data, and make decisions.
• Lead QA Inspectors and Technicians for proper implementation of quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
• Independently execute product and process audits as required.
• Communicate with different levels of the organization to resolve quality issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and maintenance, to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
• Report quality issues, concerns, or deviations from standards to Supervisors and Engineers in a timely manner.
• Maintain detailed inspection, quality issues, and deviation records as required.
• Ensure adherence to quality, general plant, and PECNA policies and procedures.
• Ensure area cleanliness and 6S standards are met.
• Ability to train others at the same or lower level within the functional area.
• Ability to work all scheduled shifts.
• Ability to meet the physical demands and the PPE requirements of the role.
• No authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, reward, or discipline other employees.
• Function as the owner of area Key Performance Indicators.
• Lead the Quality Tech team in Quality Supervisor’s absence.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

• To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Pre-employment respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred Education Required:

• High school diploma, GED, or 2 years of prior experience in the functional area
• Preferred: Associate’s degree

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of related work experience (manufacturing or similar industries).
• Working knowledge in programming scripts, data visualization tools, and Foundry AI platforms with the ability to modify the scripts as required.
• Working knowledge in Statistical Process Control.
• Working knowledge in CAPA and Root Cause Analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience within QA functions with a strong understanding in corrective actions and containment actions or equivalent previous work experience.
