Job summary

iRF - Intelligent RF Solutions, located in Sparks, MD, seeks an experienced PCB/assembly inspector to assure quality across incoming, in-process, and final stages of RF products. You will verify solder quality, component placement, polarity and workmanship per IPC, customer, and internal standards, perform rework, and maintain meticulous records.

The role requires IPC-J-STD-001 and/or IPC-610 certification (or ability to obtain) and hands-on experience with PCB inspection and rework.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of related experience, or 2 years post-secondary with 0–2 years related experience.
• IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-610 certification (or ability to obtain).
• Strong PCB inspection, SMT components, and rework experience.
• Knowledge of ESD requirements and proper handling procedures.
• Experience with EPICOR ERP.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of PCB assemblies, SMT components, and RF products.
• Inspect solder quality, component placement, polarity, and workmanship.
• Conduct board-level rework and touch-up using IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-7711/7721 standards.
• Follow and enforce ESD-safe handling practices throughout the production environment.
• Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances to Engineering and Operations.
• Support root-cause and corrective action efforts by providing inspection data and defect observations.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, traceability documentation, and quality logs.
• Utilize ERP systems for part lookup, routing verification, inventory review, and quality documentation (EPICOR required).
• Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on reducing defects and enhancing manufacturing quality.
• Assist with internal or customer audits as needed to ensure production process compliance.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
• IPC-J-STD-001 and/or IPC-610 certification (or ability to obtain).
• Strong hands-on experience with PCB inspection, SMT components, and rework.
• Knowledge of ESD requirements and proper handling procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify workmanship defects.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using ERP systems — EPICOR required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in RF, electronics, or defense-related manufacturing environments.
• Experience with IPC-7711/7721 rework practices.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality standards.
• Experience with nonconformance documentation and basic inspection metric tracking.

Salary Range: $29.00 - $33.00/hourly

Location: Onsite in Sparks, MD with a 9/80 schedule. Every other Friday off.
