iRF - Intelligent RF Solutions in Sparks, MD is seeking a hands-on RF/microwave technician to support manufacturing, calibration and test of parts and assemblies. You will work closely with engineers to define test setups and ensure product performance meets specifications.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, soldering under a microscope, and experience with RF test equipment such as network analyzers and oscilloscopes. Onsite in Sparks, MD with a 9/80 schedule.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and applicable experience.
  • Strong knowledge of RF test equipment and ability to read schematics.
  • Soldering using a microscope.
  • Experience with LabView and writing ATE programs.
  • Hands-on and team-oriented in a small company environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, calibrate, and test RF/microwave components.
  • Define test set-ups with engineers.
  • Perform rework and quality testing of parts.
  • Run automated test programs and collect data.
  • Troubleshoot electro-mechanical issues and modify equipment as needed.

Job Description
  • Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including sub-assembly and product final assembly, calibration and test.
  • Works with engineers to provide definition of test set-up and calibration tasks.
  • Performs rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.
  • Utilizes automated test programs to evaluate product performance against specifications and to collect data demonstrating product performance.
  • Reviews data and adjusts the product 'select at test' components to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Utilizes a variety of test equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, drawings, schematics and operating or repair manuals.
  • Debugs/Rebuilds manufacturing/test equipment as required.
  • May perform product modifications as directed by manufacturing/test engineers.
Essential Functions
  • Assembling and tuning RF or microwave components and prototype systems.
  • Using network analyzers, power meters, and signal generators to diagnose and fix circuit or component failures.
  • Modify equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as defined by predetermined diagrams and schematics.
  • Dismantle, adjust, repairs, and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings.
  • Correct malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components.
  • Performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing or testing process.
  • Compiles and records test results. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
  • Utilizes automated test programs to evaluate product performance against specifications and to collect data demonstrating product performance.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years' experience or trade school and a minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
  • Must have a solid understanding and working knowledge of RF test equipment such as Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, RF generators, digital oscilloscopes, frequency meters and Power meters.
  • Must have solid understanding of analog and digital troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read schematic diagrams and other engineering documentation required.
  • Good soldering techniques and able to do solder rework using a microscope.
  • Previous experience with LabView and ability to write ATE programs to control Test equipment and receivers a huge plus.
  • This individual must be hands-on, decisive, and able to get things done in a small company environment
  • Team-oriented attitude.
  • Must be able to pass a preemployment drug screening and background check.
Desired Qualifications
  • Formal training or experience working with RF receivers in the miliary is preferred.
  • Computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with manufacturing organization for government contracts is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO requirements, OSHA and Safety procedures.
  • ERP experience.

Salary Range: $38.00 - $44.00/Hourly

Onsite in Sparks, MD with a 9/80 schedule. Every other Friday OFF.
