Job summary

Amrize North America Inc. seeks a Quality Control Technician III to collect samples from jobsites and batch plants and perform field and laboratory testing to ensure product specifications are met.

You will assist in mix design development, provide test results to management, and help maintain DOT certifications. The role requires an Associate degree or equivalent experience and the ability to lift 75 lbs, work some nights/weekends, and obtain FAA Part 107 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Examine laboratory samples and determine conformity using instruments and calculations.
  • Assist with customer service issues and troubleshoot problems or complaints.
  • Collect samples from plants/sites for lab or field testing.
  • Coordinate with teammates to ensure timely completion of QC tasks.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and ensure regulatory certifications are up to date.
  • Operate UAV (FAA Part 107) for stockpile measurements.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To collect samples from jobsites/batch plants and performs field and laboratory quality control testing toensure product specifications are achieved. Help to maintain DOT product approvals. Use knowledge ofconcrete design to help innovate new products that meet internal and external aspirations. Provide verbaland/or written test results to management and production staff in a timely manner. Assists manager withcustomer service issues as directed. Assists in mix design development, and other construction materialstesting. Assist with specification review and mix design submittal preparation. Assist with mix designmaintenance.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Examines laboratory samples to determine their physica properties. Uses a variety ofinstruments and calculations to determine conformity. Performs various tests to make certain that samplesmeet required standards. May be assigned to manage a specific job in the field. Records, analyzes, certifiesand prepares summaries of findings. Maintains records of test results using various databases.
  • Assists withcustomer service issues as required. Troubleshoots to determine reason for problem or complaint.
  • Collects samples from various plants/job sites as required. Work performed in a laboratory setting or at afield location.
  • Interacts with the work of other QC Technicians to ensure work is completed timely and efficiently pursuantto Quality Control Standards and Legal Requirements.
  • Regular maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Regular laboratory inspections as required by internal QMS
  • Maintain DOT laboratory and material certifications
  • Safe operation of a company-owned UAV to measure stockpile volumes
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Associate's degree or years of equivalent experience

Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel), Command, Quadrel, Google, SAP

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. over uneven ground for a distance of 300 ft.
  • Dependable attendance
  • The ability to get along with co-workers at all levels of the organization.
  • The ability to pass the post offer physical examination and pre employment drugscreening
  • Availability to work some nights and weekends
  • The ability to obtain a FAA Part 107 sUAS certification
  • The ability to obtain ODOT Level I,II, III and MDOT Level I, II Technician certifications
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
