Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a hands-on quality control technician to test raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products, ensuring compliance with project specs and safety standards.

You will collect samples in lab and field, document results, and collaborate with operations. The role involves outdoor conditions, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using PPE; relevant IDOT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality control or materials testing in aggregates or construction materials is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to interpret data and identify trends.
• Ability to follow testing procedures, maintain records, and prepare reports.
• Applicable certification (IDOT) is preferred but not required; training provided after hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure specifications.
• Collect, prepare, and analyze samples in lab and field environments, including handling material samples.
• Document and communicate test results accurately to support quality objectives.
• Monitor production quality trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
