Job summary

RH Sheppard Co Inc is seeking a Quality Control Technician to validate and document first piece, restart, and in-process inspections to ensure product conformance during production. This role follows QCIs and documents results on prints and routing forms, supporting the machine operators and assisting with nonconforming material handling and calibration routines.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of related manufacturing experience.
• Basic MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Knowledge of basic mathematics (decimals, fractions, algebra, geometry).
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and geometric tolerancing; learnable within first month.

Responsibilities

• Inspects or validates results for first machined piece setup and restart parts using blueprints and QCIs; documents data on print and first piece forms.
• Communicates defects or unusual conditions to operator or supervisor for investigation or corrective action.
• Documents first piece inspection results on the provided blueprint in the routing package.
• Conducts defined in-process and shift-based inspections per control plan requirements.
• Covers at least two machining operation areas (e.g., pistons and inputs).
• Records inspection results using official QCI documentation and escalates nonconformances.
