Job summary

Contech, Caldwell, ID, is seeking a Quality Control Technician to support concrete production. You will ensure compliance with PCI, ASTM, and AASHTO specs, oversee all testing, and maintain records to uphold product quality.

The role requires reading production drawings and manuals, strong communication and leadership, plus hands-on troubleshooting to adjust equipment and processes. Training and advancement opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

Reads and understands production drawings, engineered prints, and equipment manuals.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and leadership abilities.
Mechanical troubleshooting skills and ability to adjust equipment to meet specs.
Calculates mixing proportions and quantities for filling molds.
Proficient with Word, Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities

Ensure concrete products meet PCI, ASTM, AASHTO, and local/company specs.
Oversee and document all concrete testing (air, slump, temperature, unit weight, cylinder tests).
Maintain cylinder break records per QC standards and PCI requirements.
Inspect raw materials and fresh concrete during batching and after testing.
Ensure proper mix designs for each product type.
Operate and maintain QC equipment per manuals.
Conduct random inspections and document wire cage fabrication.
Inspect loads leaving the plant for accuracy and quality.
Hold monthly QC training meetings and maintain training records.
