Job summary

United Companies, a CRH company, is hiring a Quality Control Technician for Canon City to sample and test aggregate, concrete, and asphalt to ensure specifications are met. You will collect data, report test results, and support continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to safety standards.

The role requires outdoor work in various weather conditions and occasional travel to job sites. Entry-level and experienced candidates are invited.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Proficient in math, MS Office, reading and writing skills.
• Candidates must pass pre-employment background and drug screen.
• Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather.
• Ability to stand for long periods and walk on uneven terrain.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance if over 50 lbs.
• Ability to work varying hours including Saturday and overtime as needed.
• ACI and/or LabCAT certified or willing to obtain within 6 months.
• Valid Driver's License with a clean record.

Responsibilities

• Sample and perform field and laboratory tests on aggregate, asphalt, and concrete.
• Use prescribed standards to determine physical characteristics for SPC and conformity to specifications.
• Maintain and report test data.
• Report non-conformance to management per Quality Control Plan.
• Investigate, analyze, and recommend actions on quality control and production.
• Assist sales with quality-related customer questions and site visits.
• Calibrate laboratory facilities and maintain cleanliness.
• Perform general clean-up and maintenance duties as assigned.
• Drive to job sites to test concrete, aggregate, soil, or asphalt as needed.
