Job summary

Revlon is seeking a QC Laboratory technician for the Oxford, NC site. You will perform organoleptic and analytical testing, calibrate instruments, and manage SAP entries and batch dispositions.

Role requires 0–3 years of experience, a science/technical degree preferred, and onsite work with shift flexibility including weekends as needed.

  • Work independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Organoleptic evaluation, shade evaluation and testing of products.
  • Sample bulk products per procedures and specifications.
  • Use, care and calibration of instruments (Karl Fischer, pH meter, Densitometer, Viscometer).
  • Enter evaluation, test results and final disposition in SAP.
  • Issues bulk batch adjustments per SPI.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Verify/audit documentation of test results in SAP and SPI.
  • Ships samples of production batches to R&D and Product Development.
  • Interface with Bulk Planning/Manufacturing to coordinate sampling and dispositioning.

This role is an Onsite Role: This role requires full-time presence at our Oxford, NC office.

This position is responsible for sampling, inspecting, testing and final disposition of components and finished goods in accordance with department procedures and Revlon specifications. Use statistical sampling plans, measurement tests and developed organoleptic skills in evaluation of products. Assists with training new employees.

The QC Department supports an active manufacturing facility. Materials are evaluated and inspected in the QC Laboratory and in Manufacturing. Sampling is performed in other areas within the facility.

This position isfor 2nd Shift 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM and is required to be adaptable to working different shifts and Saturday/Sunday based on business demands and PTO schedules.

Specific Duties:

  • Organoleptic evaluation, shade evaluation and testing of bulk product, finished and purchased products in accordance with department procedures and Revlon specifications.
  • Sample bulk products in accordance with procedures and Revlon specifications.
  • Use, care and calibration of instruments and test equipment to include but not limited to Karl Fischer, pH meter, Densitometer, and Viscometer.
  • Enters evaluation, test results and final disposition in SAP.
  • Issues bulk batch adjustments in accordance with Standard Process Instructions (SPI).
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Verify/audit documentation of test results in SAP and Standard Process Instructions (SPI) in accordance with procedures and Revlon specifications to ensure compliance to requirements.
  • Ships samples of first, second and third production batches to R&D and Product Development.
  • Interface with Bulk Planning/Manufacturing to coordinate sampling of bulk updates, testing and dispositioning of bulk batches.
  • Works independently with little supervision.
  • Follows Good Laboratory Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices and safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 25 pounds as an essential function of the role.
  • Position requires a high degree of walking and standing throughout the workday.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that may include bending, reaching, and manual handling.
  • College degree in a science, technical or related business discipline preferred. In lieu of a degree, relevant experience may substitute for degree.

Minimum Years of Experience Required:

  • 0 – 3 years

The base pay range for this position is $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 / year; however base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and geographic location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short-term incentives as part of total compensation.
