Job summary

Revlon is seeking an onsite QC Microbiology role in Oxford, NC. You will perform microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process and finished products, document results in SAP, and assist with training new staff.

The role requires flexibility for shifts and some weekend work, with a focus on accuracy and GMP compliance. Minimum education is a science-related degree or equivalent experience; 0–3 years of experience preferred.

  • College degree in a science, technical or related discipline preferred; substitute with relevant experience.
  • 0–3 years of experience in a related role or field.
  • Ability to perform microbiological testing and use standard lab equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Microbiological testing of materials and products per procedures.
  • Prepare media and test methods; document results in SAP.
  • Assist in training new employees and provide backup testing capacity.
  • Follow GMP, GLP and safety procedures; work with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

This role is an Onsite Role: This role requires full-time presence at our Oxford, NC office.

This position is responsible for sampling, inspecting, testing and final disposition of components and finished goods in accordance with department procedures and Revlon specifications. Use statistical sampling plans, measurement tests and developed organoleptic skills in evaluation of products. Assists with training new employees.

The QC Department supports an active manufacturing facility. Materials are evaluated and inspected in the QC Laboratory and in Manufacturing. Sampling is performed in other areas within the facility.

This position is required to be adaptable to working different shifts and Saturday/Sunday based on business demands and PTO schedules.

Specific Duties:
  • Microbiological testing of raw materials, bulk product, finished product and purchased products in accordance with department procedures and Revlon specifications.
  • Sample materials in accordance with procedures and Revlon specifications.
  • Prepare media according to procedures and test methods.
  • Use and care of instruments and test equipment to include but not limited to pH meter, balances, incubators, flow hoods and Autoclave.
  • Enters test results and final disposition in SAP.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Provide backup to Microbiologist in environmental testing capacity.
  • Samples and tests DI Water system. Documents test results.
  • Works independently with little supervision.
  • Follows Good Laboratory Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices and safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • Must have good math and organization skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Aptitude for color and organoleptic evaluation
  • Work independently with minimum supervision
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 25 pounds as an essential function of the role.
  • Position requires a high degree of walking and standing throughout the workday.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that may include bending, reaching, and manual handling.
Minimum Education Required:
  • College degree in a science, technical or related business discipline preferred. In lieu of a degree, relevant experience may substitute for degree.
Minimum Years of Experience Required:
  • 0 – 3 years

Revlon is unable to sponsor or transfer employment visas for this role; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa support.

The base pay range for this position is $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 / year; however base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and geographic location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short-term incentives as part of total compensation.

Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits.

Employees are covered by the company-paid basic life insurance policy and company-paid short-term disability insurance (the benefit commences upon hire and allows for a portion of base salary for up to 26 weeks if you are disabled).

Employees are also able to enroll in our 401k Retirement Savings Plan.

Employees will also receive 3 weeks of vacation, pro-rated based on date of hire for the 1st year of employment and twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Vacation will depend on role.
