Quality Control Technician - 3rd shift (overnights)

Summary

Inspects and tests plastic components for dimensional accuracy and surface defects to verify conformance to company quality standards. Performs periodic audits to ensure that established in-process inspection procedures are effective and consistently followed. Records test data and written inspection reports via computer input and confers with production personnel to determine cause of deviations from standards. Provides support and oversight of the assembly and molding rework area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conducts first article inspection, including dimensional analysis and mold start-up.
• Operates equipment, sets up gauges, and implements inspection methods as outlined in the Quality Control Manual.
• Performs special assignments such as Central Tendency, Process Capability, and Design of Experiments.
• Assists manufacturing in troubleshooting quality-related issues.
• Audits molded components and in-process inspection procedures for system effectiveness.
• Supports associates in the rework area to ensure proper task performance.

Education and/or Experience

One to three months of related experience and/or training.

Language Skills

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various forms.

Physical Demands
