Quality Control Technician - 3rd Shift Opportunity

Position Summary (A Day in the Life)

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing routine inspections and audits by the means of visual and dimensional checks of the finished goods produced during the shift. This position will help monitor raw material defects; prepares defect reports to help continuously improve quality of supplied raw materials.

The Quality Assurance Technician will assist the shift supervisor in the training and overview of the bottle inspectors to ensure proper bottle inspection and packing methods of the daily production during the shift.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensures all finished goods meet or exceed customer expectations in quality and shipping requirements.
  • Helps production supervisors direct the shift activities regarding quality and training of all employees in the areas of quality control requirements, standards and procedures, and recognition of materials, which should be scrap vs. regrind.
  • Follow quality control methods to ensure that all employees can identify product for rejects, rework, etc. and to ensure that all customers receive product which meets or exceeds customer standards.
  • Performs quality checks (visual or dimensional) of product to assure containers meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Notifies shift supervisor when bottles do not meet customer specifications, ensuring that non-conforming material controls are effectively used.
  • Conducts first article inspection, with appropriate documentation at start-up of production lines.
  • During quality checks, completes shift quality inspection reports.
  • Helps maintain quality specifications information regarding bottle drawings, pack patterns, packaging requirements, etc.
  • Helps monitor raw material defects; prepares defect reports and submits to management to help continuously improve quality of supplied raw materials.
  • Helps audit warehouse operations to ensure proper stacking and packing procedures to meet customer specifications.
  • Helps assure GMP, AIB and/or SQF regulations are followed during the shift.

Experience/Education

  • Knowledge and/or willingness to learn the in-house inventory systems and general computer (PC) for all types of data entry, reports and internal communications.
  • Requires constant visual attention; ability to discern flaws in containers.
  • High-school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements

  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
