Job summary

Carlisle Companies is seeking a QAQC56 - Quality Technician -HVAC in Wylie, TX. You will perform various quality control tests on products and inspect raw materials, finished goods, and in-process materials to ensure they meet minimum quality requirements.

The role involves standard work week of 40 hours with occasional overtime and no travel. You will collaborate with engineering, production, and customer service to address quality issues and support audits and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Education – High School diploma or GED required.
  • Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Use measuring devices to ensure products meet specifications or to detect defects.
  • Enter test results into the company database and manage documents.
  • Communicate quality issues with engineering, shipping and scheduling daily.
  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Assist audits and participate in quarterly UL audits.
  • Assist production teams with quality plan documentation and test requirement updates.
  • Help drive continuous quality improvement and scrap reduction across the site.

Job Description

Job Summary

Ability to perform various quality control tests on products to verify that all products meet or exceed minimum quality requirements. Ability to perform inspection on raw materials, finished products and work in process for batch making, mixing, and molding/expanding to ensure quality products are produced and shipped out to the customer. Standard work week 40 hours a week with occasional overtime, no travel required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Use dimensional measuring devices to ensure products meet job orderspecifications, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Enter all test results into company database and manage documents.
  • Communicate quality issues with engineering, shipping and scheduling daily.
  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Participate in U.L. audits on a quarterly basis.
  • Act as plant liaison to the Tech Center in regard to all QC functions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis regarding quality issues, identify and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assist external and internal quality audits.
  • Assist Production teams with process changes, quality plan documentation, and test requirement updates.
  • Assist customer service and sales teams to respond to customer questions in relation to product capability and limitations.
  • Help to drive continuous quality improvement and scrap reduction across the site.
  • Perform quality assurance tests and visual inspections of raw materials, intermediary products, and finished goods per work instructions.
Qualifications

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Math Skills proficiency up to Algebra and basic Trigonometry.
  • Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow CWT’s policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Basic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills; ability to use a calculator.
  • Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, scales, rulers).
  • Team player able to follow instructions from both management and peers.
  • Ability to learn and operate new equipment.

Education and Experience:

  • Required:
    • Education – High School diploma or GED required.
    • Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience required.

  • This position conducts its work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to some odors.
