Job summary

Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician in Leonard, Texas.

The role focuses on overall QC of the project and support of the QA/QC program, with emphasis on inspecting workmanship and materials, and maintaining detailed reports and documentation. The ideal candidate will have a civil engineering or construction management background, 1–3 years of heavy civil experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • 1–3 years of heavy civil construction experience preferred (dam, reservoir, landfill, wastewater treatment plants).
  • Experience with Army Corps of Engineers projects is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Strong oral, consultative and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management, Owners and Customers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee overall quality control (QC) of the project.
  • Assist with implementation of the Project QA/QC Program and monitor compliance.
  • Review contract specs, scope of work and exclusions; ensure alignment with industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections of workmanship and materials.
  • Administer the overall quality assurance program.
  • Act in QA/QC matters for the Company.
  • File reports and document photography.
  • Attend contractor QA/QC meetings and track issues.
  • Maintain integrity and professionalism in all QA/QC matters.

Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Responsible for overall quality control (QC) of the project.
  • Assist with implementation of Project QA/QC Program and monitor for compliance.

  • Conduct inspections of workmanship and materials.
  • Administer the overall quality and assurance program.

  • Attend contractor QA/QC meetings and monitor issues and concerns noted in the meeting minutes..

Education And/or Work Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
  • 1-3 years of heavy civil construction experience, preferably in dam, reservoir, landfill, wastewater treatment plants preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of Army Corp of Engineer projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
