Umpqua Sand & Gravel, a CRH Company, seeks a Quality Control Technician in Roseburg, OR to test aggregates, concrete and asphalt to ensure premier material quality. You’ll join a safety‑driven team and contribute to daily QC checks, with training provided to build your certifications.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain all applicable Quality Control Technician certifications during initial training.
• Basic math and algebra skills, with motivation to learn.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel to sites near Salem.
• High ethics and integrity.
• Good performance, safety, and attendance.
• Ability to communicate effectively by phone and in person.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Willingness to work nights, overtime, and weekends as needed.
• Strong written and oral communication, plus organizational and time management skills.
• Pass physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently collect samples from asphalt, concrete or aggregate plants, and various job sites.
• Set-up, operate, and maintain nuclear density gauges for asphalt and soils compaction.
• Perform field tests for density or other properties.
• Promptly report non-compliant tests to project superintendent when applicable.
• Process samples using a variety of testing equipment and procedures.
• Record data and enter information into computer systems.
• Communicate with plant staff.
• Perform general clean-up and maintenance duties as assigned.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
• Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
• Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
• Regular and timely attendance.

In this role, you’ll be testing samples of aggregates, concrete, and asphalt to ensure that only the best quality materials are used. You’ll play an integral part as we stand together to reinvent the way our world is built.

Wage

$30.50/HR+, DOE w/ potential for overtime during our busy season.

Shift

M-F, 7am-3pm. Hours may vary based on business demands.

What You Can Do (Minimum Qualifications)

The ability to obtain all applicable Quality Control Technician certifications during initial training, which will require basic math, algebra, and motivation to learn all essential information.

Obtain a valid driver’s license.

Willingness to travel to various site locations in and near the city of Salem.

Have a high standard of ethics and integrity.

Demonstrate good performance, safety, and attendance.
