Job summary

Powers Engineering and Construction Testing, LLC is seeking construction and engineering field technicians, QC/QA inspectors, laboratory staff and project managers for construction materials testing and inspection work.

Our field technicians observe contractors on commercial and civil construction sites and perform basic soils, concrete, asphalt and masonry tests to ensure that testing, materials, and inspections comply with drawings, specifications and other applicable industry standards.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting plans, drawings and specs and coordinating with teams.
• Ability to document construction observations and materials in writing.
• Strong math, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage own time with minimal supervision.
• Prior construction or engineering experience preferred; training offered.

Responsibilities

• Observe contractors on commercial and civil construction sites and perform basic soils, concrete, asphalt, and masonry tests.
• Ensure testing and inspections meet drawings, specs and industry standards.
• Provide written documentation of construction observations and materials.

Job description

Construction/Engineering Technician, Project Manager, and/or Laboratory Technician

Powers Engineering and Construction Testing, LLC is seeking construction and engineering field technicians, QC/QA inspectors, laboratory staff and project managers for construction materials testing and inspection work.

Our field technicians observe contractors on commercial and civil construction sites and perform basic soils, concrete, asphalt and masonry tests to ensure that testing, materials, and inspections comply with drawings, specifications and other applicable industry standards.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be able to interpret project plans, drawings and specifications, anticipate construction issues and recommend solutions
• Provide written documentation of construction observations and materials
• Have good math, written, and oral communication skills
• Be able to manage own time with little supervision

Prior construction or engineering experience is strongly preferred. Ideal candidates will have concrete field technician (ACI or PennDOT) or asphalt field technician (PennDOT) certifications. This would be an ideal job for Civil Engineering students.
