Position: Quality Control Technician Reports to: QA/QC Manger

Lindsay Precast, LLC. / Company Position Objectives:

  1. Perform pre-pour and post-pour inspections of precast concrete products. Takerepresentative samples of and test raw materials and fresh concrete. Observe production and yard procedures for compliance with established standards.
Position Responsibilities:
  1. Follow quality control procedures as outlined by Lindsay Precast in the Quality System Manuals
  2. Inspect and verify the use of the correct production drawings by the builders.
  3. Inspect and verify the dimensional accuracy and condition of forms.
  4. Verify the proper fabrication and placement of reinforcement and cast-in items.
  5. Inspect finished products for conformance with the production drawings and other project requirements.
  6. Document inspection results using the proper forms.
  7. Verify procedures for concrete repair, handling, storing, and loading of finished products.
  8. Inspect post-tensioning operations to ensure conformance with specified procedures.
  9. Take representative samples of and test raw materials and fresh concrete.
  10. Perform compressive strength testing of concrete cylinders and grout cubes.
  11. Must adhere to all Lindsay Precast and OSHA safety rules
  12. Inspect welds.
  13. Work together as part of the Quality Control Team to monitor quality in the plant.
  14. Maintain Titandatabase and create reports as required.
  15. File and maintain the following records:
    1. Suppliers’ test reports for cementitious materials, aggregates and admixtures
    2. Plant and field tensioning reports
    3. Concrete records
    4. Pre-and-post-pour inspection reports
    5. Calibration records for equipment
Qualifications:
  1. At least two years of experience in precast concrete production.
  2. Able to read and interpret precast concrete production drawings.
  3. Able to read a tape measure.
  4. Able to write legibly.
  5. Able to climb on and around the production tables.
  6. Able to lift 50-60 pounds
  7. Aggregate testing experience
  8. Concrete strength testing experience
  9. ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade I Certification
  10. PCI Level I & II Technician Certifications, desired
  11. PTI Level 1 Unbonded PT – Field Installation Certification
  12. NPCA Production and Quality School Certification
