Toyota Boshoku America is seeking a Quality Technician (Floor Support) to test and inspect products and ensure they meet customer requirements in a manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes verification of first and last piece parts, in-process inspections, nonconforming material handling, quality recordkeeping, and audits in a high‑volume facility. A HS diploma or GED and 1–2 years of manufacturing experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Computer experience: Email, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; basic math aptitude; manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Verify first piece and last piece parts using check fixtures; document audit results.
  • Notify QC Team Leader of nonconforming material; assist with corrective actions and tagging.
  • Complete End of Shift reports; contribute to quality system adherence and data control.
  • Perform quality audits and continuous improvement tasks; participate in 5S in the Quality Lab.
  • Conduct various tests per customer drawings (pushout, torque, chamfer, grease checks).

Job Title:

Quality Technician (Floor Support)

FLSA Status:

Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

Test and inspect product to ensure quality and functionality of manufacturing goods meets customer requirements. Assist the team by utilizing customer requirements resulting in delivery of products and systems that satisfies customer needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical:
  1. Responsible for verification of first piece and last piece parts using check fixtures. Document audit results on log sheet. Ensure any NG conditions are approved by the Team (MFG, Tooling, Maintenance, where applicable). As time permits, perform in-process inspections of product in between first and last piece. This includes inspection of trouble process parts.
  2. When suspect nonconforming material is found internally, the Technician will communicate the issue to QC Team Leader on shift. Team Leader on shift will complete the Quality Alert, sort / rework instruction, and cert tags. Team Leader prints the Quality Alert and tags suspect product then works with NCM forklift driver to move the product to the NCM Area. In the event that Team Leader is not available or on shift at the time of the suspect material being found, the Technician will complete this activity themselves. For external customer issues, this same process is followed to establish clean point per certification requirements.
  3. Completes Quality End of Shift Report for Group Leader in the event GL or TL is not on shift. Directly responsible for performance of assigned work area.
  4. Completes Countermeasure Verification Audits for processes that have active CM's.
  5. Completes email communication of quality status as necessary.
  6. For Stamping - audits Press Setup Checklist to ensure all check items are complete per standard. Reports any NG condition for level up.
  7. For Supplier issues - notifies Supplier Quality Specialist and assists where needed to get clean point.
  8. Completes various functional tests and inspections as required by customer drawings (pushout, torque, chamfer inspection, grease amount check, etc). Documents results on quality record.
  9. Ensure overall adherence to the quality system including the nonconformance area, quality reports, and data control.
  10. Responds to Abnormal Condition calls from process leaders to ensure suspect material is contained and restart of process is validated.
  11. Conducts Product Audits per IATF requirements as required by documented schedule.
  12. Performs continuous improvement activities or other tasks requested by the Quality Leaders / Management.
  13. Ensure 5S of Quality Lab workspace meets requirements at the end of responsible shift.
  14. Understand all company policies and procedures.
  15. Be proactive and reactive to resolve abnormalities in the process.
  16. Use key performance indicators as a method of continuous improvement.
  17. Work in a team environment on safety, quality, productivity and cost improvement projects.
  18. Use Kaizen in work areas for the opportunity to make the area or line efficient.
Interpersonal:
  1. Focus on employee relations centered on trust and teamwork.
  2. Demonstrate a personality that works in cooperation with other team members toward building a sense of company teamwork.
  3. Work on continually improving skills as outlined during performance review.
  4. Attend all required training as outlined on training matrix.
Qualifications:
  1. Good communications skills both written and verbal and ability to keep good records required.
  2. Knowledge of sampling plans, strong attention to detail, ability to read and interpret blueprints, use measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauge, torque wrench, etc.) is required.
  3. Computer experience required: Email, Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and basic mathematical aptitude and manufacturing experience is required.
  4. Basic math skills are required.
Education and/or Experience:

One to two years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

High school diploma or G.E.D. required.

Physical Demands:

The employee needs to be capable of working on their feet for long periods of time and occasionally will be required to lift up to 30 pounds.

Work Environment:

This position is a typical manufacturing environment with a high noise level. Personal protective equipment will be required.
