Job summary

Mitotec Precision is seeking a Quality Control professional for the 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 3:30 PM - 2 AM). You will champion quality in production, read blueprints, perform first article inspections, and develop inspection plans. Reports to Engineering/Quality Manager and works with CMM equipment.

The ideal candidate has at least 4 years in quality control, familiarity with AIAG/IQ-OQ-PQ, and strong measurement skills. High school diploma required; degrees are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have a Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• Associates or bachelor's degree is a plus.
• Minimum 4 years quality control experience and familiarity with AIAG, IQ-OQ-PQ and SPC charting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Read moderately complex technical drawings and perform first article inspections.
• Develop inspection plans and set quality requirements for production monitoring.
• Program and manage inspection equipment such as CMM, Hommel, and Oasis machines.
• Investigate and resolve plant-wide quality control problems and lead corrective action discussions.

Shift Hours: 2nd shift M-TH 3:30 PM - 2 AM

Summary / General Description:

Responsible to champion quality in production and setting the standards adhered to, so we meet or exceed customer expectations. Must have and maintain a vast knowledge of systems and processes used in our industry including but not limited to machining, heat treatment, plating, grinding, ISO 9001 (or similar QMS systems), and process validation.

Reports to: Engineering/Quality Manager

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Read technical drawing which are moderately complex and perform
  • First article inspections
  • Develop inspection plans
  • Set quality requirements for production monitoring
• Perform mechanical inspection using gauges such as micrometers, calipers, surface testers, bore gauge, indicators, hardness testers, and optical comparator, etc.
• Understand control charts and interpret SPC data
• Understand gauge R&R studies and be able to perform as needed
• Understand the fundamentals of the PPAP process
• Understand the use of sampling plans
• Program and manage inspection equipment such as CMM, Hommel, and Oasis machines
• Investigate and resolve plant-wide quality control problems.
• Lead and participate in corrective action discussions
• Process NCM complete and accurately
• Understand and perform gauge calibrations
• Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.

Educational Level:

• Must have a Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Associates or bachelor's degree a plus

Experience:

• Minimum 4 years quality control experience.
• Previous Experience with: Military specifications, AIAG standards, IQ-OQ-PQ and SPC charting and capability studies a plus.
• Machine tool associates' program desired.

Skills and Abilities:

• Effective communication skills.
• Must be proficient with standard computer software
• Must be able to demonstrate basic math, read blueprints and operate measuring equipment.

Physical Demands: Must be able to be on feet for entire shift. Light to moderate physical demands. 20% standing, 40% sitting, 40% walking
