The Quality Control Technician role involves day travel to various asphalt and aggregate facilities throughout the greater Phoenix area, including Sun City to Queen Creek. The home base can be flexible within the greater Phoenix area.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure Quality Control: Conduct routine testing of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, and finished products to ensure quality at production, shipping, and the job site, following ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT methods.
  • Document and Report: Complete reports accurately and timely, interpret and store results, and communicate findings to supervisors.
  • Maintain Lab Standards: Keep the lab clean, troubleshoot issues, review product specs, and calibrate/testing equipment regularly.
  • Monitor Stockpile: Inspect stockpiles, sources, and truckloads, ensuring minimal segregation and contamination, and notify management of issues.
  • Inspect Equipment and Structures: Conduct routine safety and reliability inspections of plant equipment.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills You’ll Need:

  • Experience: Prior training or experience in materials testing preferred; knowledge of aggregate production is a plus.
  • Safety Knowledge: Awareness of construction and mining hazards.
  • Math Skills: Good arithmetic skills for simple to moderate calculations.
  • Technology Skills: Proficiency with computerized equipment, Microsoft Office, Google, Oracle, and relevant software.

Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid license and be willing to operate a company vehicle.

Salary Range: The base hourly rate is $23.00 per hour. This does not include bonuses or equity, and compensation depends on skills, experience, and market factors.
