Job summary

Beshert Steel Processing seeks a Quality Lab Tech to prepare and test specimens (tensile, hardness, Charpy and more) per ASTM/other specs. The role supports QA Manager in equipment maintenance and calibration across lab and production areas, ensuring accurate test specimens and results.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years in steel/quality control, with strong Excel skills and the ability to work independently and in teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in the steel industry or quality control.
• Strong Excel skills demonstrated in prior roles.
• Ability to work accurately, independently and in a team within a multi-tasked environment.

Responsibilities

• Material testing and testing preparation as per ASTM/ASME or customer standards.
• Operate the Specimen Testing Lab and ensure test accuracy.
• Prepare and deliver Mill Test Reports and test certificates.
• Maintain test and measuring equipment; calibrate when required.
• Record test results and maintain documentation for customers.
• Support continuous improvement and defect training as needed.

Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a motivated Quality Lab Tech to join our Beshert branch.The QA Lab Tech will prepare and test specimens for: Tensile, Hardness, Charpy Impact and other testing as required. The QA Lab Tech will assist the QA Manager in the maintenance and calibration of test and measuring equipment throughout both testing lab and production facility. This preparation will include milling, cutting, and shaping specimens as per ASTM or other requirements. The QA Lab Tech will be responsible for the accuracy of the test specimens and test results.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 years previous experience in the steel industry/quality control
• Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

• Strong Excel skills
• Ability to work accurately, concisely, and independently and as part of team in a multi-tasked
