Our Cottage Grove Site includes 625 3M colleagues and produces value added products including abrasives, pad conditioners, chemicals, glass bubbles, automotive textiles, and film.

As a Quality Control Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Setting quality testing equipment and performing QC (Quality Control) measurements with corresponding documentation and disposition
  • Communicating testing results to Operators and Engineers
  • Assist in identifying quality related issues including visual defects
  • Aid in conducting MSA (measurement systems analysis) studies
  • Work in a flexible work environment with varying work shifts and varying quality testing assignments – the primary hours of this position are 10 PM to 6 AM Sunday night through Friday morning

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • One (1) year combined experience in a manufacturing, pilot plant and/or lab environment in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Associates degree or higher from an accredited university
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving / analysis skills to operate and troubleshoot equipment as well as improve processes
  • Experience in quality control procedures, visual inspections, testing and reporting
  • Three (3) years experience in high volume, fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and protocols

Work location:

  • On-site - Cottage Grove, MN

Shift:

  • Hours: 10 PM to 6 AM Sunday night through Friday morning

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Relocation Assistance: Is not authorized
