Job summary

Ash Grove Cement Company is seeking a Quality Control Technician to perform laboratory tests and ensure cement products meet specifications at the Branford, FL plant. You will conduct chemical and physical tests on raw materials and fuels, following ASTM/AASHTO standards and company safety policies.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of cement lab testing experience, and proficient Excel skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience performing relevant tests in a cement laboratory environment preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
• Knowledge of chemical testing, including wet chemical analysis, and physical testing procedures.
• Ability to operate all laboratory equipment, including balances, muffle furnace, physical testing equipment, and laboratory computer.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Understands, evaluates, and monitors hazards in the laboratory or the plant.
• Performs regularly scheduled sampling and analyses as established by the laboratory.
• Monitors and changes process/quality parameters
• Notifies the Site Manager of any out-of-specification samples or problems.
• Maintains a high level of communication between the production and quality departments.
• Assists the production department in emergencies, as needed.
• Maintains a clean work area and assists in other housekeeping responsibilities.
• Prepares samples as needed for chemical and physical testing.
• Operates, cross-checks, and performs minor repairs to laboratory equipment.
• Maintains laboratory inventory of chemical solutions.
• Maintains logs and quality analysis reports as specified.
• Additional duties as assigned by manager
