Job summary

QuestSpecialty in Wayne, Michigan is seeking a Quality Control Technician for the 10:30pm–7:00am shift. You will perform inspections of materials, components and finished products to verify conformance to specifications and support continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

The role requires a high school diploma (associates preferred), experience in manufacturing QA, and proficiency with measurement tools.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and tests on materials, components and finished products.

  • Identify and report quality issues, supporting corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production and supply chain to drive improvements.
  • Calibrate and maintain QC equipment, ensuring accuracy.

About the Role:

The Quality Control Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that manufacturing processes and products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for conducting detailed inspections, testing, and analysis of raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods to identify defects or deviations. The Quality Control Tech collaborates closely with production teams to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction. By maintaining accurate documentation and quality records, this role supports compliance with industry standards and internal quality management systems. Ultimately, the Quality Control Technician helps safeguard the integrity of the manufacturing process, contributing to the overall success and reputation of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical certification in quality control, manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to quality control processes and inspection techniques.
  • Basic understanding of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or similar standards.
  • Proficiency in using measurement and testing instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures accurately.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Familiarity with computerized quality management systems and data entry software.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and non-routine inspections and tests on materials, components, and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Document inspection results and maintain detailed quality records in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Identify, report, and assist in investigating quality issues, non-conformances, and deviations, recommending corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with production, and supply chain teams to support quality improvement initiatives and process optimization.
  • Calibrate and maintain quality control equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of testing procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and protocols.
  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

The Quality Control Technician utilizes strong observational and analytical skills daily to detect product defects and process deviations, ensuring compliance with quality standards. Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams and documenting findings clearly and accurately.
