Job summary

APTIM is seeking a Contractor Quality Control System Manager to join our team in Linden, New Jersey. The role develops, implements, maintains, and manages project Quality Control, ensuring compliance with project, local, state, and federal regulations.

The CQCSM works with Program Quality Manager, Project Manager, and Construction Managers to resolve quality and technical challenges and communicate clear performance goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of construction experience, including several years as a Quality Control System Manager.
• CQM-C certification (USACE) is required.
• On-site full-time during work activities.
• EM-385 experience is a plus; EM-385 certification beneficial.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RMS, CADD.

Responsibilities

• Ensure implementation of the Project Quality Control Plan/QA Plan, company procedures, and client procedures.
• Conduct 3-phase Quality Control inspections on definable features of work.
• Assist with preparation, development, and submittal of project documents.
• Provide field engineering support where necessary.
• Ensure day-to-day work processes are followed.
• Assist Supervisors on daily walk-downs and weekly supervisor inspections.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Monitor federal, state, regional and local regulations for impact on APTIM; recommend changes as needed.
• Act as liaison with governmental agencies.
• Coordinate with Corporate Quality via the Program Quality Manager to maintain APTIM plans and programs.
• Identify compliance issues and address via Issues Tracking and Corrective Action Programs.

Job description

APTIM is seeking a Contractor Quality Control System Manager (CQCSM) to join our team in Linden, New Jersey. This role develops, implements, maintains, and manages project Quality Control. Provides technical expertise necessary to ensure compliance with project, local, state, and federal regulations. Works closely with the Program Quality Manager, Project Manager and Construction Managers in addressing and resolving Quality and technical challenges and issues, while supporting the project. Requires an effective communicator who follows corporate guidance and sets clear, concise compliance performance goals with managers, employees, subcontractors and client representatives.

Ensures project compliance by way of the 3-phase Quality Control system. Prepares and reviews technical reports, correspondence, and procedures manuals. Establishes and maintains licenses and permits as required. External contacts include clients at work locations and regulatory agencies. This individual must exhibit knowledge and apply the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of the Quality Control program. Under minimal supervision, assists in the application and enforcement of company and project standards and regulations.

• Monitors federal, state, regional, and local regulations for impact on APTIM and recommends changes as needed.
• Serves as the liaison with governmental agencies
• Coordinates with Corporate Quality by way of the Program Quality Manager to maintain compliance with APTIM plans and programs
• Identifies compliance issues and addresses via Issues Tracking and Corrective Action Programs

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have Construction-experienced individual with a minimum of 5 years of experience in related work, including multiple years as a Quality Control System Manager.
• Must have Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certification (USACE).
• Shall be on-site full-time during work activities
• Experience working under EM-385, EM-385 certification a plus
• Good written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as moderate to advanced computer and presentation skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RMS, CADD)
• Physically able to perform inspections throughout the site
• Must have degree in Engineering, Architect, or Construction Management.
• OR shall hold a state Professional Engineer’s license, with a minimum of 2 years’ construction experience on similar projects

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $115K to $130K per year. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
