Job summary

The Marvin Group, a defense contractor based in Southern California near LAX, seeks a Quality Control Supervisor to oversee inspectors, ensure MEC quality standards, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced lab/shop environment.

Responsibilities include leading huddles, onboarding, timecard audits, and maintaining compliant documentation. This role requires GD&T certification or 5 years of experience, plus strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; GD&T certification required or 5 years GD&T experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a QC supervisor.
• ASQ certifications or QA/Engineering degrees are a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in basic math and computer tasks; ability to lift 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee QC inspectors and leads, following supervisor roles and responsibilities checklist.
• Monitor backlog and expeditiously resolve constraints to maintain workflow.
• Respond to internal/external customers in a timely manner.
• Lead onboarding for new associates (30/60/90 day reviews).
• Lead daily/weekly huddles and update agenda as required.
• Identify disciplinary actions based on policy adherence.
• Review and approve employee timecards.
• Audit Quality Notifications and Inspection Reports.
• Lead one-on-one meetings with direct personnel.
• Provide training on Work Instructions, Standard Practices, and Training references.
• Attend and document Stop the Process huddles for Quality Control.
• Evaluate product complexity and assign work accordingly.
• Ensure 6S practices; document any FOD or safety incidents.
• Generate inspection reports per MEC policy.
• Identify suspect non-conforming material and create Quality Notifications.
