The Cibo Vita in Totowa, NJ is seeking a Quality Control Lead to support the QC Manager in maintaining customer and consumer satisfaction through consistent quality. You will apply knowledge of food safety, GFSI schemes, and audits to meet business needs under the QA Director’s direction.

The role offers responsibility, variety and tangible impact on our success, with opportunities to lead quality systems implementation, internal audits, and cross-department training on production lines.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of regulatory, recall and labeling knowledge
• Experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical, or food processing industry
• GMP experience in manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Assist the Quality Assurance team with implementing various quality systems (SQF, Organic, kosher, RSPO, UTZ, etc.)
• Support the QC Manager on large projects to improve consistency, efficiency, and product quality
• Work towards achieving and maintaining GFSI certification
• Implement training based off of audit deficiencies and customer complaints
• Provide support for quality-related training for all departments
• Communicate nonconforming products to appropriate personnel
• Participate in internal audits for compliance with SOPs, GMPs, and regulations.
• Participate actively in technology transfer, method qualification and validation
• Perform all additional Quality Control tasks as required on the production lines

The ideal candidate will apply a knowledge of food safety and quality, GFSI schemes, and second/third party auditing knowledge to meet business needs under the direction of the Quality Assurance Director. • Relevant work experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical, or food processing industry field.
• GMP experience in manufacturing environment
• Experienced with GFSI and HACCP Scheme (SQF, BRC)
• 2-3 years supervisory experience (including conducting performance evaluations)
• Working knowledge of safety rules, regulations, and training.
• Attention to details and be vigilant to detect process/product variations
• The ability to solve practical problems or issues and report in a higher level
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
