Job summary

MP Systems Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to deliver QC services across active job sites, implement the Quality Control Plan, conduct on-site inspections, and resolve quality issues through document reviews and field evaluations.

  • Field Audits: Conduct quality inspections for substation and transmission line components using precision tools and equipment

  • Project Synergy: Work with Project Managers, Superintendents, and General Foremen to maintain project momentum
  • Pre-Construction Planning: Analyze upcoming schedules to prepare for inspection needs during pre-construction and active phases

Job description

This role is responsible for delivering quality control services to ensure high standards are maintained across all job sites. This involves implementing and coordinating the Quality Control Plan, conducting thorough job site inspections, and resolving quality issues through document reviews and on-site evaluations. The position provides training, coaching, and real-time feedback to field teams, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and company values while supporting efficient and effective project execution.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Field Audits: Conduct quality inspections for substation and transmission line components using various precision tools and equipment.
  • Blueprint Analysis: Review construction specifications and blueprints to prepare for inspections and ensure field work matches design.
  • Project Synergy: Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and General Foremen to complete daily tasks and maintain project momentum.
  • Pre-Construction Planning: Analyze upcoming project schedules to prepare for inspection needs during both the pre-construction and active phases.
Issue Identification
  • Proactively identify potential quality risks through a detailed review of construction documents and site conditions.
Safety & Hazard Recognition
  • Zero-Accident Culture: Uphold safety as the company’s most important goal and support the mission of achieving zero accidents.
  • Hazard Mitigation: Pre-plan and identify specific methods to eliminate hazards daily based on the work task at hand. Observation Skills: Develop the skill to observe the habits of others and professionally bring hazards to their attention.
  • Open Dialogue: Promote communication between field and office regarding safety concerns, improvements, and PPE needs.
  • Continuous Training: Obtain and maintain all safety certifications as expected by company leadership.

  • Relationship Building: Develop high-trust relationships with project leadership and field personnel through open, honest dialogue.
  • Customer Relations: Demonstrate excellent professionalism and service when interacting with clients and utility owners.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education/Licensure: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or relevant work experience
  • Experience Level: This is an entry-level position. While technical experience in engineering or construction is a plus, it is not necessary.

Physical Requirements
